Tate and Pile

I was recently at Tate Modern to view a Rothko exhibition with two of my friends. I didn’t think much of the Rothko, what with being a philistine in the eyes of the guys I was with – not to mention slightly pissed from a long lunch. But I’ve always liked the building. Southwark Council have just approved this extension by Herzog and de Meuron.

It’s had the thumbs up from all the right people but let’s hope it does what they expect. Mainly doesn’t look like an extension.

It certainly looks a damned sight better than the extension to the Victoria Hall up Hanley, duck. Shouldn’t you be working instead of galivanting and getting pissed? Shaffers after the West Ham game as a prelude to getting pissed in Poland?
